Guardianship and Adoption

It is all about the children

There are many instances in life when a person or couple would like to obtain guardianship over a minor. Couples who find it hard to have children, same sex couples, family members of deceased parents, and divorced couples, all have such issues in common.

Our office is sensitive to the main reason for clients to want guardianship--to provide love and care to a child, be it their own, or one that needs a family. We will help you through this process while providing you with a legal and humane ally.
Guardianship over Minors

Guardianship over Minors is the process used for a parent to retain or obtain custody over his or her child. It is also the process used by relatives of a deceased parent of obtaining guardianship over the orphaned child's assets, person, or both. Depending on the state and action, this proceeding may take place in the probate or family court.
Adoption

Adoption is the process for a person or couple to obtain guardianship over a child that is given up for adoption by parents or wards. This is a wonderful process of providing a life, home, and love for a child that otherwise may be the ward of the state.
