Firm history
Law Offices of David M. Schlachter, LLC was founded in early 2007, with its main office located in Passaic, NJ, on the premise to provide its legal service with an emphasis on customer service. Therefore, we treat every client as if that client is our only client. We have two offices. Our Main offices is in Passaic, NJ, and we have a satellite office in Midtown Manhattan.
We are a full-range legal service office for our clients, only engaging in work that we feel comfortable giving professional, competent, and gratifying service. Initially, focusing on Wills, Trusts, and Estates, and Employment law, we also provide services in the areas that naturally extend from these areas of practice, such as Family Law and litigation. Additionally, we are certified and specially trained to handle Mortgage Foreclosure defense and modifications. To help debtor's we handle the three major forms of Bankruptcy, and negotiate credit card debt.
We are also pleased that our firm is referred by the Passaic County Bar Association, Brooklyn Bar Association, Agudath Israel of America and Orthodox Union.
Meet David M. Schlachter, Esq.
David is the principal of the firm. He graduated from Brooklyn Law School with honors. He has published his article Adjudicating the Right of Publicity In Three Easy Steps in the Journal of Law and Public Policy, cited as 14 J. L. & Pol'y 471 (2006).
David is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey, and a few Federal District Courts. He is also certified by the New Jersey Administration Office of the Courts as a Mortgage Foreclosure Mediator and specially trained by the New York Bar Association as a Mortgage Foreclosure Advocate.
Before starting this firm, David worked in private practice in small firms, where he learned the practice of law, as well as how to run a successful law practice where the client is put first. He also worked in-house at a global insurance company where he sharpened his litigation, management, and negotiation skills while handling hundreds of cases.
David prides himself on keeping current with the ever-changing laws, learning better and more sophisticated ways to help his clients, and he is affiliated with other experienced attorneys located in New York and Florida. His training includes tutorials by Bais Din Mechon L'Hoyroa, Monsey, NY in hilchos yerusha.
